The internet is an amazing thing. It started as a small experiment between a few guys who wanted their computers to talk to each other. Now, just knowing that AOL has over 35 million subscribers blows my mind. Then people think that it should be regulated? Notice the only people that are saying that are the people who don't know anything about computers. All they know is that it was the internets' fault for letting their kid find porn, the internets' fault so many people in silicon valley are out of a job. They know nothing about the way it works, why it works, and why there are so many people trying to keep it free and open. Granted, you can go out and download any movie, even if its not out in theaters yet, you can get millions of songs on your PC without anyone giving a hoot, or whatever, but it should still be free. The government wants to put a ban on p2p clients and crap like that, but just know, when they shut down napster, countless clones popped up. They may monitor e-mail (they already do), but we can encrypt it if we wanted to. If you think the internet should be monitored and regulated, then you shouldn't be on the internet. Just take a look at your freedom, and watch as the government and corperate america takes it away piece by piece, lawsuit by lawsuit.
