Nick, aka joeshmoe554, gave me a server yesterday. Not just any server, but one his dad's company was replacing. This is a beast. Weighs in at over 120 pounds. It has 16 RAM slots, 4 processor slots, 12 scsi bays (6 of which are filled) and 5 IDE bays.
I am now formatting one of the six hard drives to put windows 2000 advanced server on it. I think I have died and gone to heaven. I need a few more processors and a bit more RAM for it, so if you know anyone with a few spare socket 8 (I think) Pentium processors sitting around, tell them to email me. Anyway, my boot disks are giving me hell, so I think I need to go and download a copy of advanced server. I have never downloaded a windows OS before... hey, in that case I should just go get server 2003 and test it out... hmmm something to think about.
I have to get back to my noisy beast (3 power supplies will do it to ya...) I'm so happy!
