revolutions
I was on my way to my volunteer internship/job when I got a call on my cell phone. It was a guy named Jonathan who works with me. He simply said "Where are you? Your ticket is on the table." I could only guess as to what he was talking about. Utilizing my superior powers of deduction, I figured out that it was opening day of The Matrix: Revolutions, Jonathan is geeky enough to want to see it, and he implied that he had three tickets to go see an unbeknownst movie.
I simply said "Jonathan, I love you."
I'm not gay, but I really did love the guy at that moment.
Turns out, our bosses (both of them!) were away at a meeting all day, and wouldn't be back until late that night. Jonathan and the other guy who just started working with us had gone to go see the 1:30 showing, but their lunch ran late so they had to buy tickets for the 3:40 showing (otherwise I would be at work alone), so they bought a ticket for me. As soon as I got to work, we piled in to the station wagon and headed for movies 10.
So now you want to know what I thought of it, if it was worth going on opening day. Well. hmm.... I can't say much, but I will say that I am pretty sure that I liked it better than the second, but it was (as suspected) nothing compared to the first. It was a lot more action than I was ready for while walking into the theatre, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Some of the scenes were a bit drawn out, but again, it was eye candy so I didn't mind. And before I start giving stuff away, I will say that I was not prepared for some of the plot twists. I am still reeling from it. But that doesn't mean it's bad. It was a good movie. I want to see it again before I start dissing it or praising it too much.
But go see it anyway. I mean, it's The Matrix.
