from slims to none
I drove to San Francisco yesterday to go to Slims where the Get Up Kids were having a show. I went down with my sister, Sheryl, and met my sister Sarah at Mels diner in San Fran. We all went together and met up with some more of my sisters friends at slims. The GetUpKids were crazy good, plus knowing all their songs was cool. We were all yelling at the top of our lungs singing pretty much every song. Great times.
The guy who opened was pretty talented, but I think he was really tired. I think he only has two more days on the tour, and he wanted to to home. He reminded me a lot of Patrick Park with his harmonica and super depressing lyrics. The next band was called recover, and they were alright. They screamed all their lyrics, and every one of them had long hair that they thought would be cool to headbang to. It worked for their image, as they held their guitars above their heads and kept playing while jumping around on stage. It was quite an act, but the sad part is that nobody in the crowd got in to it. We all just kinda sat there and watched/laughed as these people jumped around and beat their heads against the air.
Then came the band. The GetUpKids. And life was good :)
They played really well, and aside from some technical difficulties (like having the lead singer run around on stage to whichever microphone was working at the time) it went smoothly and loud. Nobody really got too in to it, which I was kind of bummed about. Everyone did the whole head bob thing, and that's about it. But it was fun. Awsome. I want to go again :)
Now comes the none part. My senior project. Shit.
Yeah, I present in the mall tomorrow, and I need to kinda do the board and kinda finish it. Oh well, it just determines whether I graduate or not, right?
And now, on to Chemsitry...
