net send * HI
I was once building a fly rod as my senior project. Then I was going to make a video of our school. What I really wanted to do was use the project I am working on for XS computers as my senior project.
My teacher told me no. She said I needed to branch out from computers and do something outside my comfort zone, as in anything but computers.
Then came along this project from Oakview High School; they want their website revamped. My teacher actually approached me and asked me if I would do it as my senior project. Not three days after she told me no computers.
I am not complaining because I have to do it, I am more than happy to construct it, but it is what my teacher said when I approached her asking what changed her mind. and I quote: "I am not going to lie to you, David. This will look really good for our school." Oh well.
Now for the good part: I went to talk to a guy from shasta.com. It was a good meeting, and we talked alot about web design and the like. When we were wrapping things up, he gave me a page of notes and - get this - a W4 form. Then he started talking about things like "... when we hire you ..." and the like. Whoa. That's cool.
