I just uploaded a new folder called pictures. Guess whats in it? yeah, pictures. My new digital video camera doubles as a digital camera that takes 640x480 pictures, and i have taken a few up at my cabin and house. I decided to post them to share with the world. there are a few good ones in there, and I tell you the ones I like, so if you dont want to look at every one, just look at the ones I like :) Anyway, thats it for now.
Got back at around 9 or so last night, i think. it might have been earlier. Anywho, I have major jet lag, if you note the time on the blog... i woke up about 2 hours ago. What fun! So if anybody wants to hang out at 2 or 3 tomorrow morning, let me know, because I will probably already be awake.
My trip to Europe was great fun, but like I said earlier, I cannot even begin to outline all we did. It was all in all a great family vacation, with... whats the word... adventures. Many many adventures. The main ones were with my dad and sister. My dad got his wallet stolen on the subway in Rome, so we had to cancel all our credit cards, cash cards, atm, and EVERYTHING, which left us with pretty much no money except for any cash we kids or my mom was carrying. It took about 3 or 4 days to get a backup credit card from VISA. Imagine living in europe with no money and no way to pay the hotel you had been staying the past two nights... like I said, "adventures"
The other main one was my sisters medical 'issues'. She is usually a very healthy person, never really had any problems, but we found out she had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin or whatever its called. Well, it all started in an Italian town called Cinque Terra. (actually its a cluster of 5 towns, only one of them accessible by car, the rest by train or ferry) We were out swimming in the Mediterranian when she stepped on a sea urchin. Yes, one of those little things with all the spikes. She got about 2 dozen or so spikes stuck in her foot, embedded under her skin. We went to pisa right after that, so she saw a doctor and got a bunch of them out. Did you know that in Italy, all medical stuff is free? whether you need sea urching things removed, or a kidney transplant, i guess it is all free there. Anyway, you could imagine what that did to her ability to walk. Wile that was healing, we were in Germany a few days ago (it might have been Austria, there isnt really a border), and we went luging down a track. Its kinda like luging in the winter olympics only it has wheels instead of those ski things on the bottom... similar type of track though. But she fell. Pretty hard right onto the track. She got pretty beat up going god knows how many miles per hour. Thats not even it!!! She was taking amoxicillin (an antibiotic drug, pretty much) to keep her urchin stabs from getting infected, and we found out that she has an allergic reaction to it. Its pretty scary when your sister starts choking for no reason, and stops breathing when there isnt a doctor right there. We found one, even if we did have to barge into there house on their day off, but to make a long story short, an ambulance picked her up, and she had to stay the night in and Austrian hospital. can you say 'adventures'?
I am sorry to the people I e-mailed (you konw who you are) but I didnt have time to go to an internet cafe again... sorry bout that. I feel horrible :(
I just had a brainstorm though. I am going to find a map, and show you my trip on that, instead of writing. I think I do have a MSword copy of the itinereary if you are interested, however.
I am here on a really weird keyboard at an internet cafè in Florence Italy. My trip has been great fun, and I have done so much I cannot even begin to write it all. I will when I get back, probably. A few things of note I have seen so far, however, are the Mona Lisa at the Lourve, and the leaning tower of Pisa. For now, I am going to another museum right after this, we just had a few minutes of free time to go waste sending e-mail and posting to my blog :) this computer is strange, because I cant read any of the menus, but I try my best.... Funny I cant read the street signs either... Oh well. I am going to try to get online to see if anyone in America is online at this crazy hour... its 10:30 here, so it must be like midnight there... crazy... I will try to get to another cafè soon, but until then, know i am safe and sound.
I am leaving this morning at 10 or so, and I have alot to do before then, so I must be brief. I have a copy of our itinerary in ms word format, but I will not post that till after we get back so as not to draw stalkers. :) We are driving to SF international and flying out from there to Paris, and then getting a rental car and going god knows where from there. remember, 3000 miles in 2 weeks in a foreign land... pretty crazy with 3 kids in the back of a minivan. Anyway, just starting to pack up the car now... I will try and update when I am there if I can get myself to a puter, but until then, y'all have a nice summer, y'hear?
oh, by the way, i leave for europe tomorrow, so i am packing today, and there might not be updates for about 2 weeks...
I am going to do it. I am going to change my e-mail over to yahoo. call me smart, call me stupid, but I am going to do it. I will still check my AOHell account, but not as much as my yahoo account (destillman@yahoo.com) and only to tell you that my e-mail has changed. So be aware that if you care to drop me a line (please do) it is there. Why you may ask? cuz aol sucks. period. theres nothing more to it. MY parents are on with them, so i felt obligated to be for a while, but now i dont care, i am going over to yahoo.
I was asked again today by an adult which sport i play. I have never really gotten into the whole sports program thing, and i never plan to. I mean, i love sports and playing them for fun and stuff, but when you get people (who shall remain nameless) from my school who are going on about how someone dropped a pass in football, when football was 6 months ago, that makes me hate the whole system sports are played by. The only sports I ever attempted playing (doing?) were snowboarding, which is pretty much a solely individual sport (my dad kicked me off after the first meet) and track (need I say more) which i dropped after three days. So with that in mind, know that I reject the sports system in high schools.
Today was my last day of school, which is usually a time when I feel the most freedom during the whole year, but this year is different. I feel trapped, like my summer is going to be just as bad as the school year is. I mean, dont get me wrong here, its not like i dont WANT to go to Europe for two weeks starting in 2 days, but my dad has the ENTIRE trip planned out down to like 20 minute intervals. Also, we are traveling 3000 miles, the equivalent of a cross country tour, in 2 weeks. with three kids in the back seat of a minivan. in EUROPE!!! wish me luck, and hope i dont murder any member of my family. But after I get back (the 22nd) i go to Colorado Springs for three weeks (starting the 1st of July) to visit my cousin and his fam, so that should be great fun.
anywho, next year I am going to that new school, so I think I might miss BQ (not THAT much miind you), but yeah, we all gotta be the trailblazers at some point in our lives, huh?

Well, I had another couple of finals today. The 'massive' PE final was crazy. I mean, she made us run the mile!!! oh well. The english final was ALOT harder than I originally thought it to be. It was 13 pages long, mostly essays on books/poems/plays we had read. There was a page or two of vocab, but other than that it was really hard. Oh well if I fail. So anyway, I really like my computer, but it is running a bit hot I think. It has a standstill temperature of 127 F, and a running temp of 138, which is pretty hot compared to the stats I have been reading online. I installed a new CPU cooling device (dragonball ORB) on Friday, and that knocked off 7 F right there, and it IS pretty much summer (it was 98 F outside the day I tested the cpu temp) so I guess that tells me it right there. Oh well, just thought I might get that out there.
