Call me crazy, call me stupid, but I have embarked on a journey to learn perl. I know it is not a very good intro language, but I think it will be a fun journey. I have already learned so much, but there is so much more to learn, so I want to learn it. I want to be able to make my own cgi-scripts and all that good stuff. The fact that my mom's friend needs help with a web page and came to me probably has nothing to do with it :) Actually, she wants me to help her make a script that gathers user info (name, email, etc...) and store it for later use. It is on a webpage that gets about 6,000 hits a month (thats DOWN a bunch from last year), and I would be dealing with about 100-150 people to get data from. I will let you know if it works out.
Anyway, my mom also wants me to make a web page for the slip slop slap people, you may have heard of. I have a teacher at my school who wants to help, and perhaps a few kids too who want to help. Hey, this one has a budget of $500, so I ain't complaining :)
Well, I did go bowling last night, and had a great time. Hadn't seen Chelsey in like a few months, so that was sort of strange. Especially her parents... Well, to protect the innocent I wont say more, but they just think I'm weird I think. Anyway, while I was sick I re-arranged the site a bit. I deleted a few links and made a few new ones. I decided to add a page called 'mods' because I am going on a mod spree. To find out more, click the mods link to the left. Aside from that, I think I have nothing more to say about today, except that I am tired. Good night...
I am going bowling at 9:30 it turns out with stass, richard and chelsey and who knows who else. Should be fun, except I haven't gone bowling in a few years... Oh well. So yeah, I still don't feel too well, but who really cares? I'm in one of those moods that you just want to sleep, but you aren't tired, so you go online and try to talk to people, but everyone leaves when you sign on. hmm. [reaches for dayquil]
Argh. It's Saturday morning, and I still feel like crap. I had a temperature of 101.3 after school yesterday, so I sat down and watched the original version of Journey to the Centere of the Earth on AMC. Yeah, that put me to sleep pretty well. When I woke up, I found that the milk had turned in the fridge. Actually, my mom is gone, so having meals with my dad is like two words: Burger King. But I didn't have much to eat yesterday, so I was famished this morning, only to find that the milk was bad. It's now about noon, and I am supposed to go bowling tonight with some friends. My dad has to go to a wedding too. Hmmm. We shall see how it all turns out.
I am at school again, and it really is kinda crappy. I was really sick this mornign, but I went to school anyway. I had a big thing to do in HIstory,and math on top of that. Now I am in computers, and I am trying to upload a video to my friends ftp site, but it aint working. Oh well, I guess billie will jsut have to wait until he gats a hard copy, or until he tells his bud to let me upload without logging me off!
well, I was uploading some small ( <500kb) videos as some more previews of the wakeboarding video, and tripod sent me a nasty note that i was out of webspace. It USED to be 50 megs, now it is just 20. So now, i havo to find a new place to upload files. I have a geocities account, and a topcities, but its just a hassle... I got some pretty gnarly footage of everybody out on the lake the other day, and will compile it when I dont have gobs of homework I should be working on even as we speak... I am going to go wakeboarding with Billie and Zach today at about 1, so if you call or something, thats where i am. I am bringing the video camera to make a video and catch all of Billie's backflips and his wannabe tantrum on the wakeskate :) Anyway, look for the video in a few days if all goes well. And hey, if it is 10 minutes long, i can submit it for my imaging class. No, but I do need an idea for a 10 minute long video for the class. any suggestions can be sent to me at destillman@yahoo.com and are greatly appreciated... It's due in about 4 weeks....

I have been gone for the weekend at my dads reunion for his residency. It was 17 years ago he was there. I met a bunch of his former colleagues, and i guess I had fun, but it was pretty strange. I dont know. A lot of people who I get introduced to who I know dont really care what the hell my name is. Oh well, I just stayed in a hotel room for 36 hours strait, with the occasional trip to in-n-out.
Havent been here in a while. I went to Salinas over the weekend, so that was great. I went to my dad's reunion for his residency (he went 17 years ago). I met a whole bunch of people alot older than me saying that they knew me when I was only 6 weeks old. They said I had grown since last I met them. Well, I should hope so. One guy even said I looked just like my sister. Last he saw my sister, she was four.
Anyway, i just got the agreement i am going to have to sign before I can get my laptop. "Any downloading or installing of ANY program is not allowed" Well, crap. We wont have any privileges to do anything that involves installing a program. But they let us run msconfig and regedit? Completely hackable, but thats not the point. The point is is that if any teacher catches any program on any school program that has not been approved, they re-image the computer. Double crap. I'll get over it.
I got the first few videos I amde in school online, so go check them out! they are in .mov format, so get quicktime too. Expect more formal page in a few days... Anyway, I am at school, so wish me luck!

Hey all, just made another page added to the robotics section of my newest creation BLUEbot. You may find it interesting, and if nothing, look at the few pics I have of it :) I actually built it a while ago, but am just now getting it online.... It uses the basic stamp 2 by the way. It is the best chip in the world. I will try and get a video of it to put up soon, but no promises because I have to re-write the source code. (it got deleted somehow)
Hey all, I am at school again. Funny, it seems like mondays are always crappy. I hate mondays.
Anyway, I was online the other day for the first time in a few months, and a random guy IMed me. He was all: my name is joe. I asked: Joe who? he's all: remember, 4th grade? Seeing as how my 4th grade class had 24 kids in it, and none were named joe, i knew sommething was up.
Turns out he's from NY and did an online search of all people named bob. My profile on AIM is bob wehadababyitsaboy after the geiko commercial, and so i popped up. Crazy random. He is on my buddy list now, though :)
crazy random day today. My sister was home this weekend, so I was chillin with her yesterday. Also, my parents had a party for a group of their associates yesterday, so we had about 100 people at our house, so that was crazy too. I got 19.2 issue also. Anyway, I am getting booted offline, so see you all later
Here I am in school. I am in the 'new media desing' class, (click and dragging may be a fairly new operation to you...) and it is kinda not fun. It is pretty boring, but I will do anything to get on a laptop with a 1.6 ghz intel p4. We shall see how my spanish class goes with my 'fruity' teacher. AHHHH 2 more hours of boredom.
went to, you guessed it, my cabin this weekend. It was fun as usual. At least I didn't have to paint this time. So yeah, the first week of school just went by, and all I did was blink! Crazy how life does that sometimes. Nest spring I will be saying the same about the entire school year! School, I decided today will be fun for me this year. I am going to make the best of it, no matter how lame, dorky, etc... it gets. I am hoping to get my laptop next week if all goes well. I can't wait!!!
Oh, my dad came up to me when we were all at the cabin. He was all: what are you working on? I told him I was thinking of a new design for my site, etc.. and we got into the whole blog thing. He asked "do you use a spell checker?" I was stunned. Why the hell should he care if I use a spell checker? He wants me to design web pages as a 'summer' job. [laughing] It would be fun, but I dont know if I am up to the job. But if you know anyone in the Redding area who wants a web page built, give them my e-mail or # if you know it. I am cropping, editing, restoring, etc... a picture of my great grandfather from the early 1930's for my grandma. I will post the final product when i am done (sometime next week?) Well, we'll see how next week goes...
