So much going on lately... Thanksgiving for one. Both my sisters are coming over from wherever they are :), and whats more we have some people coming over who we've only met once (in case you were wondering, we let them use our washer ... I thought it was random too) My sister is bringing a friend with her who's sleeping in my room. My family has a way with people. Plus, we are getting our pool replastered or whatever you call it, so it has no water in it at the moment. It's kinda eerie standing in the middle of it with walls all around you and all that.
But I'm home alone hiding behind my computer from all the housework and chored that need to be done for tomorrow. My sisters dont come in until 9 tonight and 2 or 3 AM, so I am bored out of my mind. I am writing a script for my next movie I am filming on friday after thanksgiving. Should be loads of fun. My teacher let me use a wireless microphone and all that cool stuff.
Compny that I don't know just arrived... Wish me luck as I go into the social battle of thanksgiving.

Customer service. The very word makes me shudder. I called ASUS customer service to get my motherboard fixed, and got a bunch of hold music. After calling 2 numbers 4 different times, and getting 3 different PIN numbers, I got an address to send my motherboard back to the manufacturer. THe lady who finally gave me the address was like this asian person with a southern accent and a lisp. It's like, "What did you say? You want me to spell the type of motherboard I have?" The name of it, by the way, is the A7V333, so I had quite a time trying to spell it out more than I was... But, today, I am sending it back, so in 6 to 8 weeks, I should have a working computer again. I still think it would have been cheaper and easier and faster to go to Fry's and just buy a new one.

humunuh? Oh yeah, my site. I am completely out of it today. I watched the movie The Net with Sandra Bullock today. It's a pretty cool movie, but it got me to thinking that everything in that movie could happen. Basically, the movie is where she gets caught up with bad people, and they steal her identity. They take over her records and everything that has to do with a computer basically. The bad guys know her every thought and what she did, and they mimic her. Then they get it to where the FBI and LAPD are after her, and it goes downhill from there. But it is pretty scary knowing that if you have the right connections, you can trace peoples DMV records, credit card purchases, criminal records, and all that, and if you *really* know people, change all that. Identity theft. makes a persons life hell.

Man, this week is crazy. We are starting a new project in American studies, and finishing and starting one in Scientific studies. I am not stressed, though, which is weird for how much is going on. I don't know, I just feel relaxed with everything. I had a crazy fight with my parents over school. My dad's life revolves around school for me. It's always grades this and SAT that. I know it means a lot to him, but school is nothing to me for some reason. I know I am stoopid for completely hating and disregarding school, and that I am going to regret it in a few years, but you know, I really am apathetic. School to me is just a place we are forced to go to, but I really don't like the way the school system is run, especially the way people teach. I am so stoked to learn when I go to school, but its the whole work thing that gets me down. I can take tests fine, but when I try to do classwork and homework, I completely zone out. I hate it. argh.

The internet is an amazing thing. It started as a small experiment between a few guys who wanted their computers to talk to each other. Now, just knowing that AOL has over 35 million subscribers blows my mind. Then people think that it should be regulated? Notice the only people that are saying that are the people who don't know anything about computers. All they know is that it was the internets' fault for letting their kid find porn, the internets' fault so many people in silicon valley are out of a job. They know nothing about the way it works, why it works, and why there are so many people trying to keep it free and open. Granted, you can go out and download any movie, even if its not out in theaters yet, you can get millions of songs on your PC without anyone giving a hoot, or whatever, but it should still be free. The government wants to put a ban on p2p clients and crap like that, but just know, when they shut down napster, countless clones popped up. They may monitor e-mail (they already do), but we can encrypt it if we wanted to. If you think the internet should be monitored and regulated, then you shouldn't be on the internet. Just take a look at your freedom, and watch as the government and corperate america takes it away piece by piece, lawsuit by lawsuit.

Wow. I just got back from the country club where my moms' organization had a fundraiser. Great fun. It is a group of doctors spouses who put on a fashion show... starring the doctors themselves. I was a runner in the whole deal (Dr. Goodman, yes, you are up... right NOW!) so that was interesting. I did, however, get a free dinner out of it. A pretty good one at that. Those people at the country club really know how to make a filet mingon (but I can't spell it). Well, thats all I have to say about that. Funny, this is my third post today...
Call me whatever you want, but I went and saw 8-mile yesterday, and liked it. People dis on eminem for being trendy, white, a rapper, or any of a number of things, but he has talent. Both as a rapper, and now, as an actor. Even though I live in Redding and only had to pay 4.75 to see it, I would recommed anyone to go watch it, because that is some pretty crazy stuff he has goin on there. Well, not anyone. I told my mom that "it wasn't her type of movie". Only go see it if you can understand rap (emenem did the album at something like 1,100 words in 6 minutes), and dont mind all the profanity. But all in all, eminem has proven to be a great rapper and actor. Go see it. You may learn from it.
My mom took my computer into the computer place today. She didn't even tell me. She just kinda took it and was gone with it. The guy at the repair shop called me and asked me a few of the normal questions, like, have you tried it with a different power supply (first thing i tried...) and the such, but I don't think he has any idea of where to start. Basically, my motherboard is fried, and perhaps the chip, too. I feel so lost without it.

Oh man, im between a rock and a hard place. I just got this crazy cool window kit and a few round IDE cables from pcmods, and installed both in my computer (its awsome! pics tomorrow...). So thats all fine and dandy, but my computer is busted! I don't know whats even wrong with it. I am 98% sure its a motherboard problem, as I have tested it with a different power supply, and no luck. Basically, my computer is off, right? I press the power button and NOTHING happens. Absolutely nothing. No fans turn on (not even my new blowhole), no lights go on, no nothing. I have tried everything. It has been like this since last week, but I haven't fixed it. I think I need a new motherboard, and perhaps even a new chip :( thats big bucks. I probably won't get either for a while, unless of course I can sweettalk my parents into the fact that I need both to make my computer work, and my computer is necessary to my survival as a human being. Hey, its true. So basically, I have the coolest looking computer in Redding, and a mighty fast one at that, but it doesn't turn on.
I was looking at motherboards online, and since the ASUS I have now didn't give me any problems until I messed with it, I think I want another ASUS. I was looking at the A7V8X because of all the features, and you can get one pretty cheap on ebay. Also, the KT400 and the gigabit LAN kinda made me want one... If I get a new chip, I want a AMD XP 2000+ or better (They have what, 2800+ now?) That is, if I can find one cheap enough on ebay... Wish me luck in my whole computer adventures...

blah. I went to my cabin again this weekend for no particular reason other than my dad was worn out from work. This thing at RMC really blows. If you don't know what it is, I guess last week they had 40 FBI agents show up at the local tenet hospital to investigate a couple of cardiologists. They have been performing unnecessary heart surgerys or something like that. I read that that one hospital made $21 million on heart surgery alone. Thats some pretty big money. One of the guys has a salary of $2.5 mil. I could live of the interest that money makes and still be happy. jeez. Now he might go to jail. Tenet stock dropped somehting lide 50%. Just because of tiny old redding. Thank god my dad works at the other hospital. So anyway, we were at the cabin, yeah. My dad and I went on a hike for the first time in a few years, which kind of scared me because it was so random. We went up to a few lakes in the trinity alps, and I guess it was fun. It was freezing this morning. When I was up at eight o'clock the temperature had risen to 26 degrees (F). And that was at 8. Crazy.
