from slims to none

I drove to San Francisco yesterday to go to Slims where the Get Up Kids were having a show. I went down with my sister, Sheryl, and met my sister Sarah at Mels diner in San Fran. We all went together and met up with some more of my sisters friends at slims. The GetUpKids were crazy good, plus knowing all their songs was cool. We were all yelling at the top of our lungs singing pretty much every song. Great times.
The guy who opened was pretty talented, but I think he was really tired. I think he only has two more days on the tour, and he wanted to to home. He reminded me a lot of Patrick Park with his harmonica and super depressing lyrics. The next band was called recover, and they were alright. They screamed all their lyrics, and every one of them had long hair that they thought would be cool to headbang to. It worked for their image, as they held their guitars above their heads and kept playing while jumping around on stage. It was quite an act, but the sad part is that nobody in the crowd got in to it. We all just kinda sat there and watched/laughed as these people jumped around and beat their heads against the air.
Then came the band. The GetUpKids. And life was good :)
They played really well, and aside from some technical difficulties (like having the lead singer run around on stage to whichever microphone was working at the time) it went smoothly and loud. Nobody really got too in to it, which I was kind of bummed about. Everyone did the whole head bob thing, and that's about it. But it was fun. Awsome. I want to go again :)

Now comes the none part. My senior project. Shit.
Yeah, I present in the mall tomorrow, and I need to kinda do the board and kinda finish it. Oh well, it just determines whether I graduate or not, right?
And now, on to Chemsitry...

taking pictures

So my parents went to Sac-Town as I found out 10 minutes before they left. So they were gone, I went to school, school sucked, I went to James' house. We had college class, so we went, but it was überboring, so we left during the ten. It was just about getting dark when we go back to his house, so we decided to get all artsy like. We went out with his way-cool digital camera and he was all messing with it while I was driving. We went to the top of the world, downtown, to In-N-Out, and took pictures all along the way. Check some of 'em out at his site.

summer

The last few days felt like summer. This entire last weekend was just summer, plain and simple. I know the first day of spring isn't even until Saturday or something, but the weather is awsome! I like being able to roll down the window on the way to school. Just thought I'd say that.
Oh, yeah, I put up a quick fix for the date time thing on the comments. That's what I wanted to say.

moving

So I wake up this morning, and do my get ready thing. On the way out the door, I yell goodbye to my parents, and the yell back for me to come to their room. They are both sitting there talking and just chillin, and they ask me what my plans are for the weekend. Not much, I reply as usual. My mom informs me that she is going to Sacramento for four days, and my dad told me that he is going to be going to either Los Gatos or Gilroy or both on a road trip starting today. Oh yeah, and they want me to take a bus to Santa Cruz tomorrow night to go to Uncle Tony's birthday bash thing on the beach.
So very typical. And who knows what is going to happen.
Jack called me as well, wanting to know if he could spend the night tonight. Fat chance, but he probably will anyway. I guess the Shasta District schools don't have school at all tomorrow, so he wants to come to school with me at New Tech. Again, fat chance, but he will probably wind up doing it anyway.

Oh, yeah, and I know that the date is messed up on the comment section... gimme a day or two to fix it.

net send * HI

I was once building a fly rod as my senior project. Then I was going to make a video of our school. What I really wanted to do was use the project I am working on for XS computers as my senior project.
My teacher told me no. She said I needed to branch out from computers and do something outside my comfort zone, as in anything but computers.
Then came along this project from Oakview High School; they want their website revamped. My teacher actually approached me and asked me if I would do it as my senior project. Not three days after she told me no computers.
I am not complaining because I have to do it, I am more than happy to construct it, but it is what my teacher said when I approached her asking what changed her mind. and I quote: "I am not going to lie to you, David. This will look really good for our school." Oh well.
Now for the good part: I went to talk to a guy from shasta.com. It was a good meeting, and we talked alot about web design and the like. When we were wrapping things up, he gave me a page of notes and - get this - a W4 form. Then he started talking about things like "... when we hire you ..." and the like. Whoa. That's cool.
