I have my senior board presentation.
Basically, it is a presentation I give to 5 people who decide whether or not to OK my graduation, and what kind of grade I get it my Political Studies class (it is worth some 400 points). But no pressure.
I just finished (or got as done as I am going to get) my portfolio, the basis for my speech. It looks pretty nice, but I wish I had time to add more pictures to it. I did it all in Flash, except the examples. Flash is great fun once you get to know its quirks (you can only put ~128 characters in the link box?!) and script language. It's all good.
But I got the best idea today!!! I am going to put a computer in my car! I found a 90W DC-DC power supply online, along with some way cool touch LCD screens on eBay and the like. Mount one of those puppies under the dash on the passenger side, and badda-bing!, your own MP3/DVD/SETI@Home box in my car! Now how cool would that be?
BTW, if anyone wants to donate a few hundred bucks to me, I wont tell the government, so you could write it off on next years taxes :)
The last week and the next week and a half are crazy.
We bought a house in San Jose. We are selling our house in Redding. I am turning 18. I am graduating and never going back to high school. I got voted prom king (!?). I got/am getting a job. Senior boards on Tuesday. Finals.
And I am still worried that I haven't updated my website. I am still working through the new blogger, which is very different. I don't know if I like it or not, but it is a change.
Prom was last night, and like I said, Stassia and I got voted prom king/queen. Who would have ever thought? I kind of had a feeling we would when we got nominated, but why we even got nominated remains a mystery. I think it is cool and all, but... me? prom king? weird.
I don't even know what to write, I am so frazzled.
I spent the last week at Catalina Island in SoCal with some kids from my school and another school in our district. Snorkeling, Kayaking, etc... It was great fun. Pictures if I can get my hands on some.
Other than that, there are only 12 days left of school (or so I am told), so I need to get my butt in gear and graduate. Wish me luck.
I stumbled across this company which is able to - for a small fee - track people via their cell phone. While it only tracks users who consent their phone (for instance when a mom wants to track their kid) to their service, it is the firt such company that I have seen that does it. Quite amazing that they can do it, and market it.
And the question is: Is America next?
So I was just kinda driving, on my way up Old Alturas, right? I am coming from Victor, and I cross that small bridge where edgewood drive is. There is this big hill, many of you may know, and I go around the corner, and who is sitting there but a friendly police officer. I, naturally, slam on the brakes. He, naturally, has his radar gun pointed RIGHT at me. I drive by slowly, and in my rear-view mirror, he turns around. He didn't even have to put his lights on, I just pulled over.
You know, there is this feeling you get, the one that sits in the bottom of your stomache when you know you just did something wrong. It was about the time that my car stopped on the side of the road when I got that feeling.
He strolled up to my car with that cocky walk that only a po-po can pull off right. It is history from there. He clocked me going 55 in a 35 zone, but only wrote me up for 50. I guess if you are going more than 15 over the limit your fine is automatically doubled (!) so he was doing me a favor. Now all I have to do is decide whether I should just pay the fine or if I should bother going to court and hoping he doesn't show up. Oh, yeah, and I haven't told my parents yet.
