I'm a lobster.

I went snowboarding yesterday again with Charlie from the second floor. Good idea. Not wearing sunscreen? Bad idea.

We had an awsome day overall, hitting the terrain park "taking it off some sweet jumps" before the snow got too slushy and sticky. But as the day went on, we noticed that it was really hot outside. I took off my goggles during lunch and charlie noted that I was starting to get a little bit sunburned. Okay, cool, I said, I can last through the day. Oh, I did last through the day. Did a lot of good jumps and even some rails and stuff, but jeez did I get sunburned.

I went to the health center this mornning when I was done taking my ice cold shower. They laughed at me for a while and told me the obvious - how stupid I was for going up to the mountain without putting on sunscreen. Thanks, guys. The good part: they put me on steroids. Hopefully my face will turn back to normal soon, because spring break is next week. Hehe, I'd take a picture of my face, but ... I just won't put that online for, lets just say blackmail reasons.

up again

My god I love snowboarding.
Went up yesterday and saturday, and plan on going up again tomorrow. More on that when I can get the pictures :)

Anyway, I talked to someone in Redding who might have a car for me. It is an older Mitsubishi Diamante that was sorta kinda in an accident, but he wants to sell it to me for uber cheap, so I really can't complain. It would be nice to finally have a car again, even if it isn't my ghettomobile. Charlie let me drive his car, a slightly modded 2002 Subaru Outback Sport, up to the mountain and back over the weekend. It felt sooo good to be behind the wheel of a manual transmission car for a change.

But hey. I'm in class. I leave to go to Shasta as soon as I get out of this class (6, but I want to just walk out now...) Hope I don't die tomorrow ;)

more snow

So one of the guys I am going to be living with next year happens to have a cabin up in Dunsmuir. What does this mean for me? Snowboarding. Snowboarding. And Snowboarding.

We are going up there this weekend (in less than an hour - work is painful right now) with Katie and Meghan and we are going to snowboard all friggin day Saturday. I can't hardly wait. I waxed my snowboard last night on the floor of my dorm room and read the latest issue of TransWorld Snowboarding cover to cover twice. I even did laundry just for the trip ;) There is just something about snowboarding that sets me free, it lets me be who I want to be. I can take the powder run and just float down the mountain, or take jumps and fly down, or just go balls out and rocket down. Whatever route I take, the adrenaline just starts pumping, I turn up the iPod, and I am just free.

Damn, I want to go soooo bad right now.
