I'm nineteen years old now

So yeah, my birthday was last Sunday, I'm officially 19 now. I went down to San Jose to spend a quiet weekend with my parents, and even got to see my sister for a few minutes. We had this crazy neighborhood block party, it just felt so generic and ... neighborly and all. My parents live on a really nice block with a bunch of great people, but it was so weird seeing what is would have been like to have a street with a sidewalk and kid neighbors to chill with - I mean a fire truck came by for the kids to look at; it doesn't get much more generic than that.

On the way back up I visited Damien for a bit, saw his house and went swimming, then I called up my Uncle Randy for a quick dinner at In-n-Out and some quality time listening to his amazing stereo system. I took a picture with my cell phone, I'll have to upload it soon, but this ... you wouldn't believe it if I told you about it. He has been my inspiration, both good and bad. I mean, I've had my car barely a week and a half and it already has nearly $500 of stereo equipment in it :-/ Is this the car I am going to take back down to Chico? Not unless I get a nice alarm for it.

summertime and the livin's easy

Alright, so I moved out of the dorms thanks to Jessica, and I have a place to put my stuff thanks to James, and a place for my bike thanks to Caiti. Oh, yeah, and a place to live thanks to Zach. :) I have been just kinda sleeping on Stass' couch the last few days trying to get my life a bit more organized for the summer. I bought a car last saturday (a '91 civic) which has already given me engine troubles, but it is sooo nice to be driving again. I love the independence.

I am living in Redding over the summer as you know, living at Zach's house if all goes well. I am going to try to get my old job back to pay off my car, as well as maybe work in Chico at my current job (I'm going down for it tomorrow anyway)

Anyway, gotta go, just checkin' in for the time being. My computer hasn't been on since I left the dorms. Never thought I'd say it, but that's a good feeling.

out of the dorms

And so concludes my stay at the CSU, Chico residence housing. It was a great year, but I am looking forward to living in a town house with my own room, showering without wearing shoes, not having to worry if there's TP in the stall, or a guy puking in the one next to me, getting told by the second floor girls RA to turn down my music, not having 5 trash cans (and empty them out every third day), etc...

Pretty much the only thing I am going to miss are the people and the internet connection :)

Finals

Finals week. The most dreaded week in the academic school year.

So I'm a bit stressed out trying to get through finals, get a job, get a car, move, etc... this week. I love it though :) I am going car shopping with Charlie today up in Redding if he'll ever get his lazy ass up. Hopefully I'll come back with a sexy civic or something equally cheap.

Well, at least I also have Star Wars to look forward to... or is that a resounding "no"?

this is what happens when...

This is what happens when you take a keg into a Chico State dorm. The guy who's not pouring the beer down the drain is the our resident adviser's boss.

may first

So today is may first.

Whatever. The last few weeks have been way to crazy to even think about doing any sort of website redesign, so I have kind of abandoned the thoughts of it. Next year, I will know about it more than 2.5 weeks in advance, so I will be prepared, but this year, there was too much school, job, and family going on to be able to worry about it.

Like this last weekend. I found out the day before I left that I was going to Sacramento for my mom, who is stepping down as the president of the CMAA for the state of CA. All was fun and well, but I didn't get back until, you guessed it, today. Like, half an hour ago. I love supporting my parents, but this "dress up in a tie for a dinner with a million ladies who all want you to be their son-in-law" thing is getting a bit old. But whatever, I like dressing up, and it's fun to make conversation with the people who are not trying to pawn me off on their daughters. Staying in the presidents suite of the Hilton in Sactown was pretty cool though :)

If you are reading this from a link off of may1, just give me a negative point or whatever. I won't be hurt.
